Season
January
The AGM saw the re-election of all the main office bearers for the year ahead. The club members decided to support McMillan Cancer Support as this years chosen charity
February
Most of the items for the annual show has been completed and the finisher’s awards agreed.
March
Visit from 2 directors of the AOVC to promote the new show which was being organised for Balltmena at the end of June. Members took the opportunity to quiz the directors on various topics.
April
Another great show at the start of the month with this years enters up by approximately 50%. Excellent work by this years charity in assisting with the sale of the draw tickets.
Ballylinney weekend provided a chance to unwind for members who attended.
May
2 members travelled to England and drove through some lovely countryside in Dartmoor and the Cotswalds and attended an event in Plymouth.
The Danny boy Festival in Limavady was attended by 15 club members.
DVDs were shown of our static show in April and also a day trip away to Scotland on one of the Stenaline special day trip deals for classics.
Members visited Dunluce Castle.
June
The meeting was held in the Point bar at Magilligan as it is every year with an excellent barbeque. Members attended the first AOVC show in Ballymena, it was a good show with some upgrades required for future years.
The Moffett show proved to be as good if not better than previous years.
Tommy Finlay showed a DVD of a helicopter flight he had taken over Eglinton and the north west area.
July
Tommy Finlay showed a couple of excellent DVD’s at July’s meeting. One was of the annual show this year at CDRFC and the other showed the AOVC show in Ballymena.
August
Tommy showed a DVD the Gerald had taken on a visit to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Members again assisted the North Coast Mini Club in their event in Portrush.
September
There was a run on to Ballylinney / Bushmills old school house. Tommy showed DVDs of the 50 years of Mini event in Birmingham and also a slideshow of pictures from the AOVC show in Ballymena.
October
Dinner Dance arrangements finalised
November
Quiz night with Pat in the chair, teams were tested on their knowledge of all types of cars as well as general knowledge.
December
Dinner Dance were members danced the night away with good music and crac.
No meeting, but members met in the Happy Landing for a Christmas drink. |
